School Philosophy/Mission
The Ann Arbor Learning Community will offer students and parents an educational adventure which emphasizes a rigorous academic program while developing vital life skills by immersing students in a variety of "compelling experiences."

Overview
AALC Offers: A strong core curriculum in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Art, drama, and music are offered for all students Class size is limited to 17 students. AALC consists of Multi-grade classrooms. AALC focuses on individualized instruction and student-influenced, learning experiences As a public charter school we have chosen to focus on several themes. The major themes are Outdoor/Environmental Education, Performing Arts and Organic Gardening. Our themes and emphasis in the core curriculum create well-rounded students, enhance students' self-assurance through the performing arts, and encourage students' awareness of the environment through organic gardening and environmental education.
